Lessons from a Lioness
Blessed Leo season,
As you probably know, I’m a proud Leo who adores summer and all things August.
Here is a 2-part wisdom transmission for you, from my Lion's Heart to yours!
Part 1: 5 lessons from turning 41
A while back, I saw someone refer to their 41st birthday as forty-onederful.
I’m into it!
Yesterday, I turned 41 years young. To honor my birthday, here are 5 lessons (because 4+1 = 5) I’ve learned this year that I’ll take with me for the rest of my blessed life. Perhaps you’ll find these lessons resonant and helpful for your own journey!
Lesson 1: I do my best work when I’m rested and nourished.
Apparently, I bit the culture bait which lured my brain into this false belief: when I work harder and push myself further, I’ll have more success, make more money and be happier. I see this false belief corroding both my professional and personal development. I got such a deep and lovely encoding this year that revealed the opposite to me. Where I now take my stand fully is that when I am nourished, grounded, rested and calm, not only am I WAY more productive, but I am tapped into my intuition and therefore I receive all sorts of brilliant nudges and tips that I miss when I’m stretched and burned out.
Lesson 2: I must actively ‘complete the stress cycle’ every single day in order to thrive.
There are stressors, and then there is stress. Stressors are the source of our stress. Stressors live outside of us and require solutions. Stress lives in our bodies and requires active energy-letting. In other words, it’s not enough to be mindful of my stressors and practice sporadic stress-relief techniques. Being a human today on planet earth is stressful, and each and every day my body temple requires release in order to “complete the stress cycle” and be able to function on a basic level. For a deeper dive into this and the 7 methods that accomplish this task, read this past article of mine +/or read the book Burnout by Emily + Amelia Nagoski.
Lesson 3: Even if you think you might fall on your face, do it anyway. We don’t learn by sitting on the sidelines.
I was absolutely terrified to launch my very first leadership mastermind this year. It was a project at least 3 years in the making, and one that took a lot of nerve and courage to finally birth into the world. It has been an incredible experience, yielding huge spiritual growth, professional know-how and unparalleled lessons in humility, boundaries and transparency. I recorded this podcast on 3 specific learnings that have come from this offering. As I round the corner into the final 4 months of the container, I’m filled with gratitude for my amazing clients who invested in themselves and took this journey with me. And, I’m so excited for the next iteration of Metamorphosis! Keep an eye out, we’ll begin February 2024 ;)
Lesson 4: Patience + Trust + Non-attachment = Magic
The biggest manifestation I am ushering into my life experience right now is my future home! Ben and I have been on a journey of many years to save enough $ for a down payment, secure loan pre-approval and get ourselves in position to actually buy a house. We are finally there, poised at the edge of the cliff, ready to buy… and there’s crickets out there 🤪 While this feels like a pretty anticlimactic moment in our manifestation process, I am so clear that as long as I’m feeling impatient or attached to the outcome, it’s not going to show up. Obviously, this is a game I’m playing with the Universe. A game of trust, surrender, levity and giving it all up to Spirit.
Lesson 5: Me and my body deserve care… period.
My cervical spine has been out of alignment since January. It’s taken a big effort to rally the troops and gather a care team around me, and finally as of August, I’ve got in place a therapist, 2 chiropractors, a massage therapist, an acupuncturist, and a Theta energy worker. Recently, one of them invited me to consider that regardless of whether I’m in pain or discomfort, it is worth my while to maintain a support network moving forward at all times. Prevention is a big lesson in adulting. I’m ready to step up my game, and thank goddess I’ve got some great folks ready to assist me!
Here’s a photo Ben took of me yesterday on my 41st bday ;) right after jumping naked into a glacial river. My happy place!
Part 2: 8-8 Lions Gate!
Tomorrow, you’re invited to harness the power of the Lion's Gate!
Every year on August 8th we get an opportunity for cosmological alignment that is well worth utilizing in your manifestation process.
The lion's gate portal opens on August 8th when the sun in Leo, the star Sirius, Orion's belt, and the Earth all align in the sky. Sirius is one of our closest star neighbors and the brightest in our night sky.
This cosmic event is magnified further by the numerology of the number 8, linked to many mystical symbols including the lemniscate/infinity sign, and the archetype of Strength in the Tarot.
On the iconic Rider-Waite card, Strength is a woman calmly standing over a powerful lion, gently holding its immense jaws open, with a floating infinity symbol above her head like a crown. You might say she is the ultimate embodiment of the Lion's Gate portal!
To make the most of this potent moment, I invite you to channel the courage of Strength + Leo and choose ONE potent action step you can take today that you've been resisting, dreading, putting off or avoiding...
Your action step might be...
🦁 Reach out to that ideal client, customer or contact and invite them to hire you.
🦁 Take a bold money move, like applying for a business loan, home loan, new credit card, open an investment account, or put a deposit down on an program you’ve been feeling called toward.
🦁 Make a DECISION on something you've been wishy-washy about... a book title, business name, URL, deadline to launch your newest creation.
These are simply some ideas…
What step will you commit to take today?
Then, ritualize it.
Set up an altar, pull a card, write some prayers and set them on fire to drift into the ethers...
To your lion-hearted actions,
Britta
