Today’s tip: Schedule like a (conscious) CEO
Whether you’re a CEO or not, you can schedule like one.
The overculture would have us believe that burnout is a necessary side-effect of success, which means that we necessarily sacrifice our wellbeing in the name of financial abundance.
I call B.S.
And while taking on the toxic overculture is untenable, making bite-size changes in how you manage your calendar is doable.
Here are 4 common scheduling pitfalls to avoid, in order to feel soothed instead of stretched:
1. you don't look at your annual + quarterly goals before making daily to-do lists
(so what feels "urgent" always wins over what's most important)
2. you schedule work, meetings and appointments, then fit in days off where you can
(so your rest and rejuvenation is the last priority, instead of the first)
3. you don't consider the current season when making a quarterly plan
(so you often feel out of sync with nature and exhausted, like you’re constantly pushing)
4. you plan with your brain, rather than pausing and asking for higher guidance
(so you train yourself to rely solely on your mind and sheer will power, rather than sourcing instruction and inspiration from the divine guidance available to you)
I guarantee that if you sat down with any conscious CEO or leader, their productivity habits would shock you. Because despite the domineering, extractive methods we see in most businesses, more and more conscious leaders have figured out that these pitfalls do not lead to more productivity… and they certainly don’t lead to positive team morale, sustainable business plans, or radiant vitality.
In order to create our best work, we need healthy boundaries.
So whether or not you’re already on track to become a conscious CEO, you can start to manage your calendar like one, today.
Because your time and attention are precious, and we’ve got work to do.
Take one of these pitfalls and assess your January 2025 calendar to see where you can make a small adjustment toward sustainable success.
