New on the podcast: You can’t force clarity.
A 3-part contemplation choosing powerfully, biding our time while clarity takes a hiatus, and a simple formula to learn from our past decisions. Listen on Spotify or Apple.
Onward!
Resist the urge.
To hustle
To hurry up
To grind
To check all the boxes or knock out all your projects before 2025 is done.
This is a friendly reminder.
Autumn is ideally aligned to
trim the fat
prune the dead limbs
let go of projects or people or ideas that keep you spinning your wheels.
Let’s not spin our wheels, yah? There’s nothing quite so exhausting as exerting a ton of effort toward something that yields no ROI and fails to move any sort of meaningful needle.
Let’s not spin our wheels, my friend!
Instead, what’s the ONE thing you want to focus on this season?
What's the ONE thing you want to see positive forward movement on?
If there were only ONE thing you could achieve this season, what would it be?
Priority, at its etymological origin, is singular.
O N E x P R I O R I T Y.
Not 2. Not 3. Not 8.
Uno.
Now that you’re honest and aligned with the most important thing, let’s strategize.
When will you do it?
Research shows that the same time every day is optimal. Can you do that? Is it possible to carve out space and say no to everything else for 30 or 60 or 120 minutes per day at the same time in order to move the needle on that one thing?
Can you try it for a week?
Maybe it’s practicing guitar.
Maybe it’s a new proposal for work.
Maybe it’s a new marketing channel.
Maybe it’s hitting your gym targets.
Whatever it is: if you say it’s important, prove it. Make time. Show up. Say no to other things so you can say yes to this!
You’ll be so glad you did.
My friend and teacher Don Ricardo says “with good completions come new beginnings.”
Let’s make a good completion of this calendar year, shall we?
