Resourced for Winter ❄️

 Hi and blessed day,

Blessed Winter Solstice to you, dear one!

As of 1:20am this morning, we have officially crossed the threshold of the longest, darkest day here in the Northern Hemisphere. May you bask in the medicine of the darkness, and give yourself full permission to hibernate like a bear 🐻

Your December edition of The Goods is here for you, aimed toward end-of-year nourishment, reciprocity and generosity.

This is a curated short list of things sparking joy, inspiration and insight for me, and you know I like to share the love.

Onward!

[read] Zen and the Art of Saving The Planet by Thich Nhat Hanh 🌎

My mom gave me this book two years ago, and in the wake of the recent election in the US, I pulled it off the shelf. It begins by exploring The Diamond Sutra, a Mahayana Buddhist scripture, which describes four notions that we're encouraged to throw away in order to realize our full potential and be of service on the planet. These are NOT small or swift concepts to embody, but I am deeply inspired and definitely intrigued. As a fun fact, the text of the The Diamond Sutra was created in China on May 11, 868, making it the oldest dated printed book in existence!

Imaginal Sky: album fundraising campaign 🌌

One of my closest friends, Lisa G Littlebird, just launched a 12-day fundraising campaign to be able to create a gorgeous soundscape album. She has banded together with several other dear friends who happen to be off-the-charts-amazing musicians, and together they are recording a 2-hour sonic journey for healing and illumination. I know this album will be spectacular and a gift to us all! Their campaign is all or nothing, so if you can give any amount of dollars to help them reach their 12k in 12 days goal, please do! Campaign closes on Christmas eve, December 24th.

Sankalpa: a fresh perspective on bucket lists 🪣

[36 min listen] This past week, I began my annual panning challenge, Spirit-Led Life Design. One of the new pieces I added this year was an invitation to more deeply contemplate "desire." I'll be recording a podcast episode on this topic soon, but suffice to say, if you're a spirit-led person who is actively manifesting and co-creating your life experience, the topic of desire is one we should rumble with. I really enjoyed this take on desire from the Vedic Worldview podcast.

[yum] Matcha Rose Latte 🍵

I saw this recipe on Anima Mundi's blog and swiftly adapted it at home to make my own version. When I want an extra special beverage, this is my go-to. I use an organic matcha powder, along with Anima Mundi's Rose powder. Toss the powders in the blender and add hot water and some hot milk of your choice, along with a nice scoop of honey. Sometimes I'll also add a small scoop of Spirulina powder for extra nutrients and a brilliant green color. Blend for 1 min. Pour into your favorite mug, and top it off with a sprinkle of crushed, dried, organic food grade rose petals 😍

[card spread] The Year Ahead Spread ✨

Taught by Kim Krans of The Wild Unknown. Use this spread for a new year or birthday. Draw 12 cards, one for each month (for birthdays, begin with the current month). Arrange the cards in a circle or diamond as you draw them. Then draw a 13th card for the center, representing the theme of the year. Use of any of her 4 fabulous decks (or any deck, for that matter) for this card spread. She prefers her Archetypes deck. For full instructions: Animal Spirit booklet, or watch this IG Reel

Winter Sleep & Dream ✨

My dear sister and client Moni Rainbow Hawk is offering a rich monthlong journey into tending your dreams and sleeping deeply. Today is the final day to sign up for this offering, which includes a bundle of plant-medicines, weekly zoom calls and more. If you feel a call to deepen the learnings and studentship with your dreamworld, this may be just the thing.

Beloved, may these tidings and nudges provide soul-level nourishment as you cross the threshold into Winter, and walk toward the end of 2024.

Whispering words of encouragement in your ear,
