The truth feels good. [The Goods

Hi and blessed day,

Another edition of The Goods is here for you. This one is a mishmash of things and it brings to mind something a friend of mine quoted:

"The truth feels good."

Well, we all know that sometimes the truth fucking hurts, but it certainly is accurate to say that the truth feels clean on our psyche... relieving, like a big sigh or a breathe of clean, fresh air.

This is a curated short list of things that are bringing me that sense of relief... for their realness, lack of polish, and willingness to say what's evident and be what simply is.

I hope you find some solace, clarity and even joy here!

🎢 The Parting Glass: a new album by Don Ricardo
Rick Klein, aka Don Ricardo, is a dear friend, elder and teacher beloved to me and Ben and lots of folks we know. He's the kind of guy that people tend to follow around. He's in his 80s now, and every year we still have him with us feels precious. Rick is what comes to mind when I hear the phrase "salt of the earth." His voice is just as endearing as ever.

πŸ”Ž Never Again? Or Again, and Again, and Again?: an essay by Charles Eisenstein
This is the article on the Israel-Gaza conflict that I've been waiting to read. Not because I take pleasure in what's happening, but because I'm relieved beyond measure to have a calm, rational voice breaking down the obvious. I highly recommend reading this article. If you take issue with it, feel free to hit reply on this email and lets have a discourse. The world needs more people who can actually discuss hard things rather than make each other wrong and walk away contracted.

🎧 On Being Podcast: Joanna Macy, In Memoriam β€” Beauty and Wisdom and Courage
The ineffable and beloved Joanna Macy passed away in her home on July 20th, after being in hospice for 3 weeks. I followed her journey of dying on Caring  Bridge during that time, and was deeply moved by the grace with which she moved through this portal that awaits us all. Someone shared that during a period of long stillness and silence, she suddenly came to and uttered a single word, one of her last... "wow." May it be that we get to die with "wow" still resounding on our lips.

✊ Sisters of Winter by MILCK
This song scratches an itch. Also, this IG video of a 4-woman acoustic acapella version is powerful.

🌹 Want to apprentice with the Rose?
I heard someone say recently that "the rose has the highest frequency of any plant on earth."

I concur.

Although enrollment is closed for my Rose & Sword group mentorship program, I have an inkling that there might be folks out there who didn't align with the group offering but want to work with Rose as a plant medicine. Are you one of them? If so, reply with "rose." I'm considering creating a mini mentorship to work 1-1 with folks who feel called to deepen with this magnificent teacher, and would love to get a sense of how many people might be keen to receive guidance and a framework for how to work with her to call in more ease, grace, trust, intuition & healthy boundaries.

Beloved, may these tidings of truth fill your cup and inspire aligned action.

In your corner,

PS. Also, this post from Darby Hudson made my day (year?)
