I am choosing powerfully.

This is my new favorite phrase.

It reminds me that

a) our choices are power in its purest form.

b) we are always choosing, even when we’re not aware of it.

Let me explain..

The choices we make—with our words, actions, dollars—are how we vote for what we want in this life. Our choices reveal our truest nature. Our fears, resistance, reluctance and willingness come to the light in the reflection our daily choices.

In every moment, we either consciously choose or we unconsciously choose.

Even in times of indecision or lack of clarity, imagine choosing it wholeheartedly rather than fighting it.

Hmmm, I’m not sure what to do about this. It’s okay. I choose to be in this mysterious liminal space right now. Clarity will come, and until then, I’ll just chill out and pay attention.

That is choosing powerfully.

I keep returning to these phrases because when you find a life-affirming mantra that resonates, it changes your frequency, literally.

Every time I mutter “I am choosing powerfully” to myself, I can feel my spine straighten. I can feel my heart soften. I can feel my mind open.

New possibilities rapidly unfold, and that which was feeling sticky begins to loosen.

If I am choosing powerfully, then I am honoring the incredible might of my own sovereignty.

Last night, I realized I had been avoiding a text from my friend, inviting me to come to his and his husband’s baby blessing in Omaha. I gave myself a minute to actually feel what was going on and got really clear on a few things—yes, I wanted to go, but I was resistant to spend the money and get on another plane (I feel like I live at SeaTac airport). This was a classic situation where I needed more information. NMI. So I checked prices and saw to my surprise that they were under $300 for a non-stop, RT flight. Then I actually looked good and hard at my calendar, and felt a dawning clarity. YES! I want to go. This feels a bit stretchy, but also doable.

So I bought my ticket, and I can’t wait to support my friends as we welcome a baby girl coming this winter.

I am choosing powerfully.
