What is your heart’s desire?

What is my heart‘s desire?

This was the question on my mind, in my heart, this morning as I drove back home after 7am cold water swimming with my local group of women.

This question was sparked by “The Way of the Rose”, an extraordinary book (and now global community) about the origins and essence of the rosary, which I’m reading for the second time.

And by second time, I mean that as soon as I finished it, I promptly started it again.

The author recalls an experience of hearing the voice of our Lady (aka Mother Mary) ask him why he hadn’t been praying for anything, and inviting him to ask for what his heart desires most.

To which he ponders, what does my heart desire?

If praying the rosary could possibly give us what we truly deeply want, what is it?

What is your deepest heart's desire?

Do you even know?

Underneath the dreams of success or having enough money to do whatever we want or being able to do all the things on our bucket list, it seems clear that the deepest desire of heart must be more meaningful than stuff and accomplishment.

Our deepest heart's desire must speak to something more…

Simple.

What is my deepest heart's desire?

This feels akin to the question if somebody gave you $1 billion today, what would you do with it?

In other words, why do you require those dollars?

What would you do with them if you were to receive them?

If you don’t know, if your answer is vague or indecisive, why would you receive that from the universe?

In alignment with the laws of manifestation, it wouldn’t make any sense—why would the universe bestow upon you what you aren’t ready to take responsibility for?

Perhaps the same can be said for our heart’s desire.

First, we have to know what it is and why we want it.

Perhaps then, we might receive it… And know what to do with it when it comes.

Your friendly invitation of a homework assignment today is to use this simple question as a journal prompt. Keep digging. Ask yourself why?, then write some more.
